Perioperative Services is a dynamic department with over 800 employees, 60 Adult Operating Rooms as well as 19 Pediatric Operating Rooms in Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital!
As part of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, our employees participate in the implementation of cutting-edge surgical technology and assist in the latest procedures. Our services range from organ transplants, joint replacements, and minimally invasive cardio-thoracic/vascular surgery, to reconstructive plastic surgery. Services are offered on-site and at our various off-site specialty facilities.
Perioperative Services encompasses the entire surgical experience. Our goal is to provide the best possible patient surgical care as we continually strive to be the Perioperative Center of Excellence in the Southeastern United States.
JOB SUMMARY: Leads the operational implementation of the vision and direction for the area/department(s), the strategic operational plans to support the vision of the department(s) and the hospital, operationalizing the plans, and evaluating and or revising the plan as needed. Implements and maintains systems directed toward achievement of quality patient care outcomes, maximum involvement of the patient in his/her own plan of care, improvement of service levels, reduction of length of hospitalization, and reduction of costs. Serves as a leader and mentor within the area/department(s) and the hospital.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures that patients and their families experience the benefits of patient focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members.
Leads the delivery of successful, high level, high level projects.
Identifies opportunities in alignment with organizational strategic plans, collaboration with senior stakeholders, directing project teams and delivery of regulatory and board level focused results on time and within budget.
Responsible for managing the operations, evaluating manager/employee performance, demonstrating customer satisfaction (internal & external) within the designated area/department(s) and strategic and operational planning and program development.

May represent the company at regional industry organizations meetings for discussing rules and regulations.
