Children’s of Mississippi (COM), part of The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC), is seeking an Administrative House Supervisor – Children’s Float Pool to support its missions of health care, academics and research. We are located in Jackson, MS, and is the only children’s hospital in the state. COM is a 265-bed state of the art children’s hospital with clinics throughout the state. COM is beginning its Magnet journey in 2023.
UMMC is the state’s only academic health sciences center and provides the only Level I Trauma Center, Level IV NICU, children’s hospital and solid organ transplantation services. UMMC is the second-largest employer in Mississippi with approximately 10,000 employees. UMMC has three specialized hospitals with 697 beds, up to 125 specialties and an annual budget of $1.7 billion.
Position Summary:
In this role, you will direct and supervise the operations in the assigned area with authority and accountability on evening and night shifts, as well as on weekends and holidays. Assures that nursing care is delivered according to standards and policy. Assumes responsibility for the department in the absence of the nursing administrator.
Functions as first-call resource in-house and consults with administrator on call as indicated. And performs job duties in accordance with the medical center's purpose.
Education and Experience:
Associates’ Degree in nursing (Master's preferred). Minimum of 5 years of RN experience, plus 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Must be actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s program within (1) year and remain in good standing until program is completed.
Must have a valid RN license.
