Overview:
OHC is looking for a Clinical Director to work in collaboration with the operational leaders of the practice to maintain our best-in-class clinical services for cancer patients and their families. The incumbent is responsible for leading the clinical functions of the organization to include the Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), Nursing Department, Laboratory and the Clinical Research Department. The Clinical Director is responsible for developing, planning, directing and overseeing the clinical operations to ensure the long-term success of the practice. The Clinical Director drives the organization clinical objectives to ensure OHC continues to meet patient and family needs in a collaborative and respectful environment.

Responsibilities:
- Direct reports and Clinical Oversight
- Oversees the clinical operations for all/assigned clinical disciplines.
- Sets annual performance goals for clinical disciplines in alignment with organizational objectives
- Oversees the completion of performance evaluations including development of performance objectives and developmental goals each year.
- Staffing retention and development
- Leads staff retention and development programs to optimize staff performance, satisfaction and minimize turnover.
- Hires and coordinates training for all clinical personnel.
- Directs the development of initial orientation, standardized on-boarding and ongoing education programs for assigned clinical staff.
- Revenue Optimization
- Develops annual operating goals and budget for the clinical department in support of the practice's business plan under the direction of the Executive Director and Controller.
- Controls the clinical departments operating costs within budget parameters.
- Assists in the development and preparation of short term and long-range plans and budgets based on organization goals and objectives, including identification/development of new clinical service lines
- Maintains effective clinical staff coverage for the practice within budgetary guidelines.
- Directs the correct use of charge codes and facilitate education of all clinical staff in correct documentation per reimbursement guidelines.
- Directs the development/implementation of clinical components of regulatory and value-based care programs/contracts, facilitate education of staff on key program components to facilitate compliance.
- Ensure clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives
- Collaborates with practice management to provide leadership on operational projects such as site Quality Committees, Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI) or other applicable accreditations, regulatory and value-based care program compliance, and other special projects as assigned.
- Responsible in facilitating, optimization/ implementation of Care Delivery best practices including, but not limited to assessing appropriate staffing levels, patient flow, current clinical practices/services, and policies & procedures.
- Collaborates with various US Oncology groups/committees to facilitate systematic solutions to patient care initiatives.
- Responsible in leading clinical initiatives in patient education and communication, evaluates standards of patient care and professional practice with special attention to cost effectiveness, comfort, safety, age-specific implications, and cultural diversity.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be patient centered, flexible and a proven leader in a fast-paced, changing environment. The ideal candidate is an accomplished executive with strong communication skills, collaborative leadership style, physician relationship building acumen, team building and general management skills. He/She is a self-starter with initiative to seek and resolve everyday challenges and the ability to work with a team and independently.
Position requires a master's degree in Nursing and appropriate certification as well as clinical leadership/management experience. Education in Healthcare Management, Administration, or a related business or healthcare field also preferred. Minimum of seven years' direct clinical experience in an oncology practice or clinic setting required. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. is required.
