The Assistant Nurse Manager reports to the Director of Surgery. Under general supervision the Assistant Nurse Manager supports the nursing care during the intra-operative phase the operating room. The Assistant Nurse Manager supports the unit and hospital goals. Goals include achievement of clinical and quality measures, operational efficiency, financial targets as well as population/age specific needs of the department. The Assistant Nurse Manager will assume the responsibilities of the Operating Room in the absence of the Assistant Clinical Director or Director. The Assistant Nurse Manager manages the operating room schedule and emergency procedures. Plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the clinical and operational aspects of the department. Makes certain surgical procedures start within the designated time. Assists with meeting the metrics, monitors supply and staffing costs. Circulates in operating room when needed. Troubleshoots technical aspects.
