Facilitates data abstraction and the ongoing analysis of data at all levels of the organization in order to enhance performance improvement and outcomes initiatives.
1. Data abstraction and analysis
a. Effectively abstracts data and analyzes the data for assigned performance improvement and evidence based outcomes initiatives in a consistent manner.
b. Uses resources as appropriate for abstraction and analysis of data.
c. Performs additional complex data abstraction and analysis for assigned performance improvement and evidence based outcomes initiatives and when requested for special projects related to performance improvement initiatives and evidence based outcomes initiatives.
2. Data collection, abstraction and reporting tools
a. Develops effective data collection tools (for abstraction) to meet the needs of assigned performance improvement and evidence based outcomes initiatives in a consistent manner.
b. Effectively utilizes evidenced based abstraction tools to prepare data for analysis and reporting.
c. Develops effective methods and tools for presenting data in easy to understand and professional format.
d. Maintains well organized, documented data files.
e. Assists with the data presentation for evidence based outcomes initiatives (i.e. Core Measures, STS and Vascular Registry.
3. Database Applications
a. Effectively use and support all database applications and analytical tools as applicable to Tenet PBGMC (i.e. Quantros, Care Discovery, Showcase, Enterprise Reporting).
b. Effectively use Microsoft excel and access applications for data maintenance, analysis and presentations if applicable.
4. Resource and Education
a. Acts as a resource for staff related to data abstraction, collection and analysis for assigned performance improvement and evidence based outcomes initiatives in a consistent manner.
b. Acts as a resource for staff related to data presentation.
c. Acts as a resource for staff for data abstraction and collection methodologies for assigned performance improvement and evidence based outcomes initiatives in a consistent manner.
d. Provided basic education to staff related to data collection, analysis and presentation.
5. Professional Growth and Development
a. a. Actively participates in ongoing and annual education, webinars and seminars related to data abstraction, analysis and abstraction, for assigned performance improvement and evidence based medicine data related to outcomes management and data collection, abstraction for performance improvement.
Required: Associateï¿½s or Bachelorï¿½s Degree in healthcare related field. BSN preferred.
Required: 1 year in health related field. Experience with data abstraction and management preferred.
