The Certified Surgical Technician is a vital part of an interdisciplinary team and assists the physician in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease specializing in the care of patients undergoing PTCA Stent placement, IABP placement, etc. With increased experience provides resource and mentoring to new staff while exhibiting enhanced technical skills. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Health System and demonstrating behavior consistent with the Core Values.
Hired before September 1, 2009 -- Graduation from an accredited school of Surgical Technology or at least one year of verified scrub tech experience. Hired after September 1, 2009 -- Graduate from an accredited school of Surgical Technology required.
Six months experience preferred
Hired before September 1, 2009 -- No certification required. CPR required.
Hired after September 1, 2009 -- Must obtain certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting prior to 1st day of orientation.
AHA CPR required.
